Ford Focus crowned best at Auto Trader awards

The Jaguar XJ Series won the luxury category and the luxury brand also took third prize with its V8 XJ Series. Other winners included the Rover 75 for Best Used Family Car, the Audi A2 won the supermini award, while the BMW X5 took home the Best Used SUV title. The awards were based on nearly 7,000 votes by British motorists.

Mazda6 Named ‘Used Car Of The Year 2007’ By What Car?

Commenting on Mazda s overall victory, What Car? Used Car Editor, Matt Sanger said, The Mazda6 was the clear winner of our Used Car of the Year title. There were more votes cast for the Mazda6 than for all the other category winners put together. Its overall package of value for money, reliability, desirability and fine handling, proved too much for the competition.

Hot Ford Focus RS named Best Used Car

Other awards went to the Mitsubishi Ralliart FTO (Sports Car), Audi A2 (Supermini), Jaguar XJ (Luxury Car) and BMW X5 (SUV). Award ceremony presenter, former Top Gear star and used car expert Jason Dawe said: ”These awards are special because the owners and drivers of used cars in the UK have decided them – not a panel of journalists, critics and motor industry ‘gurus’.

Mazda 6 Used Car of the Year

The Mazda 6 has been named the What Car? Used Car of The Year 2007, beating a shortlist of 48 models selected from more than 3000 cars. Judges picked the winner from a vast selection of used cars that were built from 2000 onwards. What Car? Used Car Editor Matt Sanger said: ‘The 2003 Mazda 6 2.0 TS is a clear winner, securing more than half the votes from the judging panel. It’s a great combination of value, reliability and desirability, alongside its fine handling and driving abilities.

Chrysler 300C surprises UK residual value experts

Almost two years to the day from the original launch of the Chrysler 300C saloon in the UK, residual value experts have confirmed that the 300C has been a massive residual value success story. Martin Ward, Manufacturer Relationship Manager for CAP, said: “A two year old diesel Chrysler 300C with 30,000 Miles on the clock is today worth an impressive 67 per cent of the Ј25,750 it cost when new.
