Business looking to build adult care facility CADILLAC DeShano Development Corporation is looking to build an adult care facility located just west of the Wildwood Condominium driveway on Sunnyside Drive. The facility, which could house up to 17 people, is for elderly who are independent but need assistance on occasion. Besides the 17 rooms there will be a common dining room, hair salon, rec room and open deck. The company is hoping to start construction in the fall.
It is going to be a one-story, residential design, said Cadillac Area Community Director Jerry Adams. The parcel, which is 1.34 acres, was conditionally rezoned for this type of use by the city council. The next step is to get approval from the planning board. The request will be brought to the board at its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Cadillac Municipal Building.
Also at planning board, there is a request from Edward Wetzel for a special land use permit to operate a used car sales lot at 1101 and 1049 N. Mitchell Street. This area is zoned B-3, which is general business.
