BMW India is also planning to expand its dealership network and include four more cities including Pune, Ahmedabad, Kochi and Kolkata. These new dealerships will be in operation by next year, and will be in addition to the eight cities where BMW is already present. The company is also considering setting up smaller authorised service outlets in Tier II cities, Kronschnabl said.

According to KPMG’s 2006/07 survey of finance companies, released yesterday, finance company share of business lending (including finance lease receivables) was 9.9 per cent at the end of March this year. Share was down from 10.4 per cent in 2006 and 11.2 per cent in 2005.
