Chrysler employee discount goes to stablemates in Air Canada

The hookup between the auto maker and the airline is part of an aggressive push by Mr. Bigland to continue boosting his company’s sales in Canada and strengthen its hold on second place in the sales rankings. The company grabbed that spot last year ahead of Ford Motor Co. of Canada Ltd. and behind General Motors of Canada Ltd. by posting 12 months of year-over-year sales increases, which gave it the biggest market-share gains of any auto maker in the Canadian market.

Forest Lake Ford is placed in receivership

Of the nearly $4 million owed, more than half went to the bank, Glauber argued. That money is no longer in the business, he said. The balance of the money, $1.9 million, is no longer in the business either. It was given to Ford Motor Credit.

City, Ford launch vehicle down-payment assistance program

Winston-Salem dealership buys Plaza Ford

Parkway Ford in Winston-Salem has purchased Plaza Ford in Lexington , which will now be known as Parkway Ford Lincoln Mercury. Parkway owner Junie Michael, who grew up in Davidson County , said the combination of Parkway Ford on Peters Creek Parkway and Parkway Ford North on University Parkway in Winston-Salem with Plaza Ford in Lexington will create economies of scale that will benefit all three operations.

1973 Ford Mustang Hardtop

I met Siegfried Grunze 20 years ago when I first came to Los Angeles. During a Mustang show at Manhattan Ford, he walked up to me and explained why his ‘73 hardtop was something Mustang Monthly readers needed to see. It had all the factory paperwork in addition to the window sticker, original paint and graphics, and even a new-car smell. The car was obviously a low-mileage original, purchased new from Midway Ford in Los Angeles.

Ford Retail expands in Yorkshire

The deal, which was secured for an undisclosed sum, takes the number of outlets operated by Polar Ford in Yorkshire and the North East to fourteen. Chris Hayden, chairman and chief executive of Ford Retail, said: The purchase of the Hartwell Ford dealership provides a good geographic fit that strengthens our presence in the north of the country. The dealership employs 71 staff in new and used car sales, commercial vehicle sales and its servicing, body shop and parts businesses.

1998-2005 Ford Ranger

Ford had a good thing going with the previous-generation (1993-1997) Ranger, despite its telephone-booth appearance and agrarian demeanor. With stiffer competition coming from Japan and a new Dakota from Dodge, Ford preemptively upped the ante.

Car sales registrations are a good but not perfect indication on auto sales. It measures the number of cars and trucks registered in a county after purchase not where it was actually bought. So if someone bought a new Dodge Caliber from Bryden Motors in Beloit, Wis., and registered it in Boone County, it would show up as an Illinois registration.

Selling family-owned Dewey Ford

“It can be very painful,” said Brown. “It’s letting go of a part of family history.” For Vukovich, who eventually sold Dewey Ford last month to Ken Garff Automotive Group of Salt Lake City, Utah, the decision was spurred by changes in the marketplace, but that didn’t make the decision easier. Gary Thomas, president of the Iowa Automobile Dealers Association, agrees that the decision for dealers to sell can be difficult.
