Despite Toyota’s problems, the automaker still ranks third overall in reliability, behind only Honda and Subaru, with 11 models

Reliability trends Our latest survey tracks a decade’s worth of trouble Reliability remains a forte for most Japanese brands. Twenty-three of the 33 models in our most reliable list are from Japanese automakers. Moreover, we ve predicted average reliability or better for all Honda and Subaru models based on our most recent survey. This year s forecast shows that domestic models, led by Ford, continue to improve and that there are small improvements in European makes as well.

Brad Barker Honda readies for expansion

BLOOMINGTON — In the midst of troubling times for the auto industry, one local car dealership is bucking the trend as it readies for an expansion. Bloomington’s Brad Barker Honda plans to demolish the former Dodge dealership behind its current facility at the corner of Veterans Parkway and G.E. Road and build a new service center this year.

Hero Honda flags off used-bike segment with SURE!

Chennai, 21 December 2007: Hero Honda, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world, has forayed into the used two-wheeler trading business under the ‘Hero Honda SURE!’ brand. Taking a cue from the passenger car market leader, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), which spearheaded the used-vehicle business through Maruti True Value, Hero Honda has started SURE! at its 40 dealerships across India on a pilot basis.

Honda top reliability survey third year running

Trading Enterprises, a member of the Al-Futtaim Group and sole distributor for Honda in the UAE, today announced that six out of the top ten vehicles in a survey of used car reliability conducted by British publication What Car?, are Honda models, propelling the brand to the number one spot for the third consecutive year.

How Investors Should View Honda’s Fuel Cell Car (HMC, F, TM, BLDP, ZAAP)

Ballard Power (NASDAQ:BLDP) was long thought of as the fuel cell stock play, and this has been a watch stock on our alternative energy sector tag on the 24/7 Wall St. site. In fact, I have been covering that stock on and off since 1996 or 1997 when this was just a future technology. But now Ballard has sold off its automotive fuel cell business to Ford and to Daimler AG (NYSE:DAI) in return for its stakes held by both companies.

Honda, Nissan to expand showroom space

The local Honda and Nissan dealership will soon be changing its name and remodeling its showroom and facility at South Washington Street and 32nd Avenue South in Grand Forks. The more than $1 million remodeling of the existing Honda showroom, addition of a separate Nissan showroom and renovation and updating of the shop area recently got under way and is expected to be complete by spring.

More mechanical wisdom from Bob Weber Books never read Q–In some recent columns, there’s been a discussion about the procedure for resetting the service reminder for cars after an oil change. I think a better answer to his question would have been for you to have told him to look for that information in the owner’s manual of his car. I’ve been taking my Honda Civic to an independent garage and they failed to reset the service reminder light.
