However, to avoid city congestion there is an active need to reduce the life of a car to 7-10 years. Further, congestion zones should be earmarked in all cities and any car entering into it should be asked to pay Rs.1000/- per occasion with staying limit of two hours.

Mini selected for award among new cars

The revived Mini brand has been praised once again this week and given more awards to add to its collection. Announcing record new car and used car sales records, Mini UK’s general manager Andy Hearn commented as the model was given the title of best supermini by readers of BusinessCar magazine. Top Gear magazine awarded the prize for best small car to the Mini for the secod year in a row, although this time around it was the new Mini Clubman that achieved the accolade.

Superminis dominate UK used car market

According to data analyst Experian, which compiled the used car study, it is the first time in eight years that the lower medium segment has not been the nation s best selling sector, although its lead has been whittled away in recent years. The Ford Fiesta is the UK s best selling used supermini and was also the best selling used car overall during the first half of the year.

However, Experian s statistics show that around 78 per cent of all the cars classed as super minis that changed hands during the first half of the year were over three years old. The older the car, the more likely it is to have a hidden history that could affect the car buyer s decision to make a purchase.

Jakarta to host largest ever trade expo

The Jakarta Post , Jakarta Jakarta is gearing up to host the country’s largest ever trade fair, in which more than 960 local businesses and 3,000 potential international buyers will participate, a top official said. The 2007 Indonesian Trade Expo (ITE), scheduled to run from Oct. 23 to 27 at the Jakarta Fairground in Kemayoran, is expected to help boost the country’s export industry, which has been projected to grow this year by between 14.5 and 20 percent.
