MANCHESTER Quirk Auto Dealerships has closed its deal to acquire Dobles Chevrolet-Buick-Hummer on South Willow Street. Quirk said new Quirk Chevrolet-Buick-Hummer signs will be up in about six to eight weeks, and the dealership will change it hours to be open on Sundays. Pretty much, Dobles as you see it will be (physically) upgraded, but will still sell the same products and do business in a quality way, Quirk said. Quirk pointed to the Dobles location at 1250 S. Willow St., one of Manchester’s busiest roads and right off I-293, as a primary reason he acquired the dealership.

A long-time Chevrolet dealer, Quirk also said he believed General Motors products were on a comeback. One thing Quirk plans to do is take advantage of the marketing and inventory set-up he has at his seven dealerships in Massachusetts. With a large inventory of cars and trucks, Quirk said buyers won’t have to wait to take delivery of a vehicle. Since the company focuses on volume to make its money, it will also be aggressive on prices, Quirk said. The new Sunday hours, from 10 a.m.

to 5 p.m., makes it easier for some customers to buy a car on Sunday than it is during the week. The South Willow Street dealership has about 170 employees. Quirk said he sees no immediate changes to staffing levels, and hopes to able to expand his workforce as time goes on. I’ve made a major commitment to the Manchester market and I intend to run a quality dealership focused on customer service, Quirk said.
