I think the biggest complaint I have about this car is the service I received from the dealer. A year after I had bought this used car from them, I had a major repair (~$5000). The warranty on it had just expired a few days earlier (of course) and only after we made a scene, they decided to reduce this ridiculous repair to $2400. NEVER VW again. The car itself is fun, and peppy. There are 2 major design flaws (I hope they’ve fixed it on newer models): 1.
The driver’s side outside mirror blocks the view. I’ve tried to adjust the seat, etc, but the huge blind spot is still there. It was twice that I almost ran over someone because of it! 2. Changing the headlite bulb: very complicated. The $2 bulb will cost you $50 to change at the infamous VW dealer. If you do it yourself, it’ll take 1/2 a day as you have to remove the whole front unit. Good luck! Again, it’s a fun car, and if you buy it.. stay clear of the dealership.
