The financial terms of these transactions were not disclosed. “We will be able to offer most anything anyone is looking for with a GM nameplate, with the exception of Chevrolet and Saturn,” said Brian Castonguay, president and general manager of Hubacher. “Whatever they’re looking to buy, it will be under one roof.

People will be able to save themselves a lot of time and effort.” Ultimately, Hubacher will house not only Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac and GMC makes but also Saab, in which GM is a majority owner. With five GM-associated brands, Hubacher will stand out among stand-alone dealerships. Only the region’s auto malls can offer more options in such close proximity.

Graham, who has been a local dealer since 1973, will retain his Kia dealership at 2194 Fulton Ave., convert space vacated by his GM makes at 2200 Fulton Ave. into an expanded used-car lot, and upgrade body shop operations to handle an anticipated increase in demand for GM service. Graham said that demand will be created, in part, by Hubacher, which confirmed that it is closing its body shop to make room for its new GM operations. The dealers expect to complete their deal by Oct. 9.

Graham described the sale to Hubacher as “business simplification and GM consolidation,” adding that “the business opportunity made sense for both us and Hubacher. It’s a win-win.” The 61-year-old Graham also noted that his children were pursuing careers outside auto retailing and he was pleased that his longstanding GM customers would have the opportunity to shop for cars at a nearby site. Graham said his expanded used-car business will involve all makes and likely be import-focused.
